Making a safe Air Rifle target

Inspired by this video, https://youtu.be/E5u8eupg2jc I have made my own, with three features:

Final target

I already had an old roasting tray, so liked the idea of using plumbing putty. Working on a template of an A4 piece of paper, I used wood strips to reduce the volume of putty needed in the tray. I used 4 tubs of Plumber’s Mait to create at least an inch depth. 177 pellets go in about 3 pellets’ depth at 25 yds.

I was already using neodymium magnets, and have taken the idea of embedding them in the wood and using nuts that are cheaper to replace. I used a glue gun and a tack hammer handle to flatten the magnets. There is a nail to pit the nuts on when replacing targets.

I used the idea of a couple of slots for the legs, but reinforced the stand with a thick piece of wood at the back.
